While Danny Odem is still technically a commit to the Nebraska football team, the talented defensive back is getting a ton of attention from other schools, including one Big Ten Rival.

Odem, who committed to the Huskers in June, is reportedly getting a full-court press from the Michigan Wolverines. Sherrone Moore and Co. recently saw one of their own commits in 4-star safety Dorian Barney flip to Ole Miss.

According to recent reports, the Wolverines, who have been monitoring Odem for some time now, are "working fast" to get The First Academy (Orlando, Fla.) on campus in Ann Arbor. The report continued that the Wolverines are confident that they will be able to get the Nebraska commit to Ann Arbor and that keeping in contact with Odem throughout his recruiting process should work in Michigan's favor in this instance.

Odem was supposed to be in Lincoln for an official visit to see the Cornhuskers take on Michigan. However, he wasn't able to make that trip. It doesn't appear all is lost with the Nebraska commit, though, as he's still expected to get to Lincoln for a game day in the very near future.

Danny Odem is the No. 20 cornerback and No. 22 player in the state of Florida for the 2026 class, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings. Keeping him in the fold is incredibly important for a Nebraska football team that hasn't had a ton of success in this cycle. While the 2027 class is showing more reasons for optimism, head coach Matt Rhule has to make sure to keep the stars he still has for 2026 committed to the Cornhuskers.
