The third member of the Bellevue Thunderbirds that committed to the Nebraska football team in the same year has finally found his home after all three entered the transfer portal this year.
Dae’Vonn Hall has decided to stick close to home, though it’s a little farther up the road from Bellevue than Lincoln was. The wide receiver has officially transfer to the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers, taking his talents to NCAA Division II and ironically enough, playing for a head coach in Ryan Held who was once an assistant with the Huskers, though it was before Hall’s time in Lincoln.
The former Nebraska football receiver arrived in Lincoln to quite a bit of fanfare alongside his high school quarterback Daniel Kaelin, and the man who used to catch passes on the other side of the formation in Isaiah McMorris.
Former Nebraska football wide receiver finds new home in-state
Since all three entered the transfer portal, only Kaelin managed to find a home at the Power 4 level. The quarterback landed with the Virginia Cavaliers. McMorris chose to play for Missouri State, who is making the jump to the FBS this season.
Hall might have chosen to stay in Nebraska rather than take a higher profile offer. It seems unlikely that an FCS program at the very least wouldn’t have come calling.
Hall, McMorris and Kaelin all joined the Nebraska football program as highly touted in-state prospects, but none of the three saw much action as true freshmen in 2024. Now Hall joins his former teammates in an opportunity to show what he can do in 2025.
