It seemed like Bellevue West quarterback Daniel Kaelin and wide receivers Dae’Vonn Hall and Isaiah McMorris were going to continue to advance their careers together with the Nebraska football team. If they still want to be teammates, they will all need to transfer to the same school.

On Monday, the first day the portal opened, Kaelin entered, followed by McMorris and thern Hall on Wednesday. Thus, the Bellevue Three's Husker playing days are over before they really begin.

The question now is whether the Nebraska football team will fight for any of the three to return the way it did for Emmett Johnson and Keona Davis. Johnson had considered entering the portal but changed his mind before it opened. Davis officially entered but then reversed course a day later and announced he would remain a Cornhusker.

Bellevue Three leave the Nebraska football program

For whatever team lands any of these three players, the most attractive aspect is that they all have four years of eligibility left. None of the three got into more than one game this season and it was clear early on that head coach Matt Rhule wanted to redshirt them.

It will certainly be interesting to see what the markets will be for the Bellevue Three. Kaelin was committed to the Missouri Tigers before he flipped to Nebraska. He then at least took a look at Michigan State after Dylan Raiola committed, but he ended up deciding to stay.

In all, the Nebraska football team now has a grand total of 20 players in the transfer portal. Johnson and Davis are for now, the only players that signaled they were transferring who eventually reversed course, though it’s expected the staff will work on keeping a few more.
