Corey Hadley not only gave the Nebraska football team yet another top defensive commit on Sunday, he also helped quash any concerns that the Huskers' recruiting momentum was headed the wrong way. More important than the recruiting angle, NU is putting together a future defense that could be quite foreboding for any opponents.
Hadley's commitment comes after he visited Nebraska four times over the last year and will be back in June for his official visit. Hadley's four visits mostly went under the radar, but they obviously showed a prospect who was very high on NU.
Corey Hadley gives Nebraska football another versatile defensive back commit
Hadley had official visits scheduled to see Georgia Tech and Mississippi State, but he announced his commitment to Nebraska before those visits. While the Huskers expect him to play safety when he comes to Lincoln, he's a multi-talented player who mans corner for his 7-on-7 team and has even seen snaps at wide receiver.
Now that the Sandy Creek (GA) prospect is officially "N" he gives Matt Rhule his eighth pledge of the 2027 cycle. With the addition, NU now holds the No. 14 class nationally according to Rivals and sits fourth in the Big Ten.
Primarily recruited by defensive backs coach Addison Williams, Hadley has reportedly built a strong relationship with NU's staff throughout the process. His most recent visit came earlier this spring, when he had the opportunity to watch the team practice.
Nebraska football keeps loading up on defensive backs in the 2027 class
The best news following Corey Hadley's commitment is that the Huskers show no signs of slowing down. As of April 26, NU has already scheduled 26 official visits for recruits in the 2027 class. Of that group, seven of them are defensive backs, making it clear that defensive back is a key position for the Cornhuskers staff this cycle.
Hadley joins Tory Pittman III, who also plays safety, as the second defensive back included in the haul for the Nebraska football team.
