While the Nebraska football are looking to add some commits to the 2026 class, they’re also looking to keep one who has already given his pledge. Unfortunately, at the moment, their chances of holding onto CJ Bronaugh doesn’t seem great.

The 4-star corner back committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers back in November of 2024 but as the calendar turned to 2025, it seems as if Bronaugh has started to wonder if Lincoln is really the right place for him. Now it turns out that not only is he taking to other schools, but he’s planning several official visits for later this year.

According to Steve Wiltfong of On3, Bronaugh is planning on taking an official to Florida on May 30. Considering he just took an unofficial visit to the Gators this past week, that can’t be a good thing for Husker fans.

A week later, the DB will take an official visit to the Nebraska football team, affording them another chance to really lock him down. Then he’ll head over to Florida State on June 13 and finally Penn State on June 20.

If you think all of this action doesn’t scream “committed,” youre not alone. While Bronaugh hasn’t officially de-committed it seems as this point that he’s basically a free agent who is allowing the Nebraska Cornhuskers a chance to sell him on why he should stay.

For their part, the Nebraska football coaching staff is clearly interested in keeping CJ Bronaugh in the fold as they haven’t told him they’re moving on. Considering he’s the No. 18 corner in the entire class according to On3’s Industry Rankings, it makes sense that they’d like to keep him a Husker commit.
