It’s safe to say that CJ Bronaugh was a bit of a surprise commitment back when he pulled the trigger for the Nebraska football team this past fall. That’s why it’s not that big a shock that the Huskers are having to work overtime to keep him in the fold. It’s still not great that NU is fighting against some serious Power conference opponents in order to keep the defensive back prospect as a commit.

One such school that is making a big push is Florida State. That shouldn’t be a surprise considering that former Husker defensive coordinator Tony White is now running that unit with the Seminoles. Clearly he likes what he’s seen from Bronaugh and wants to see if he can get the 3-star prospect to follow him to FSU.

"They're talking to me a lot," Bronaugh told Noles247 according to FSU Wire. "They're trying to build a relationship. You can just tell they care." That’s bad news for a Nebraska football team that is, in some ways, essentially starting over with a new defensive backs coach, as well as a new defensive coordinator.

Nebraska football fighting with old coaches to keep commit in the fold

Florida State is far from the only school coming after the Huskers’ commit.

LSU, Penn State and, Syracuse are all seeing a bit of light between the Nebraska football team and CJ Bronaugh. There’s a lot of time between now the signing day in December. It appears that Matt Rhule and company have their work cut out for them.
