The Nebraska football team doesn’t have that many commits for its 2026 class. It looks like its losing its grip on the best players it’s secured so far.
Earlier this year, there was quite a bit of talk about how much attention CJ Bronaugh was getting from other schools. It’s clear all that attention has him looking elsewhere. One has to wonder at this point how long we can really call the 4-star safety a “commit” to the Huskers.
On Wednesday morning, On3’s Steve Wiltfong reported that the Nebraska football commit is planning on taking visits to several other programs in the coming weeks. The safety plans on taking in Florida State on March 19, North Carolina on March 21, Clemson on March 23 and Florida on March 25.

Nebraska football commit CJ Bronaugh plans trips to other schools
Bronaugh does also have an official visit to Lincoln on June 8. Matt Rhule and company will clearly look to sell him that keeping his word, which he gave just after Thanksgiving last year, is the right choice.
The Cornhuskers will try to show the 4-star prospect out of Winter Garden, Florida that Nebraska is the best bet for his playing days to lead to the NFL.
That his official visit comes after the spring trips to other schools is a good thing. That he has another official visit to Penn State after his additional look at the Nebraska football team is a big drawback. This fight seems like it might go all the way to December. It’s possible that fans should hope it goes all the way to December.
