While the Nebraska football team has not been nearly as active in the spring portal as it was in the winter portal session, there is one player that Matt Rhule and company would love to land and they’ll find out whether that wish is granted later on Monday.

CharMar Brown is a freshman running back who ran for over 1,000 yards for North Dakota this past season and since entering the portal has gotten attention from several Power 4 teams. It didnt’ take long at all for the teams to get narrowed down and when Brown does pull the trigger, he’s expected to pick between the Huskers and the Miami Hurricanes.

One of the most interesting parts of this particular recruitment is that other than when he plans to make the pick, the Creighton Prep product has kept things pretty close to the vest. At the moment, even the analysts who have talked to him multiple times don’t have an idea on where he’s going. But there might be one indicator that could get Nebraska football fans excited.

Brown took visits to Miami and Lincoln but when one goes and looks at his Twitter account, the only visit that’s featured in his timeline is the one where he spent time with Matt Rhule, Dana Holgorsen and EJ Barthel. There doesn’t appear to be any mention at all of checking out the Hurricanes.

That is of course, reading between the lines in a way that’s not dependable. He’s not someone who is all that active on Twitter so it might simply be a situation where he didn’t take a photo or didn’t both posting it.

The good news is that either way, Nebraska football should find out soon whether it’s landing a new running back, or will instead simply go into fall camp with the alignment it already knew it had.
