Nebraska may have a Clemson problem in a cornerback race it once seemed to lead

Bryce Williams has been considered a heavy lean to the Nebraska football team for quite a while now. However, a recent offer from the Clemson Tigers could change things. The 4-star cornerback might have some serious thinking to do now that the Florida prospect has an offer in hand from the ACC power.

Rivals' analyst Tim Verghese is among those who believe the Tigers coming calling could be "recruitment changing" for the former Florida State commit. However, it's worth noting that the Huskers appear to be back on a recruiting heater, considering they just scored a commitment from a 4-star safety in Corey Hadley.

Clemson offer gives Nebraska football a new threat in Bryce Williams race

Williams now has more than 45 offers, including Nebraska, Indiana, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State. The Cornhuskers have been considered one of the favorites and will get an official visit the weekend of June 5.

However, part of the reason why it's possible that Clemson could make a lot of noise quickly is that he was on an unofficial visit to the Tigers on Monday night. He's also expected to take an official visit to Dabo Swinney's squad on May 29.

Nebraska football still has a June visit to regain momentum with Bryce Williams

Clemson jumping the line and getting an official visit before he takes one to Lincoln could be a sign that he's suddenly leaning towards the ACC school. Granted, Williams has taken several unofficial visits and certainly knows what Nebraska has to offer.

The No. 37 cornerback and No. 30 player in the state of Florida for the 2027 class would be an important pickup for the Nebraska football team if it can fight off the Clemson Tigers. NU has had some real success in the defensive backfield in this cycle, especially, and Bryce Williams would be a nice addition to the group.
