Since committing to Nebraska, other teams haven't backed off on 4-star running back Amir Brown. There's even been some concern that the Rolesville, North Carolina, prospect might bolt for the Alabama Crimson Tide. However, the Huskers might have a secret weapon in the form of Emmett Johnson.
Brown recently paid a lengthy visit to Lincoln, where he received the red-carpet treatment from his future school. During that visit, Brown reportedly had several long conversations with Johnson, who just completed his career-best season. Johnson's season was also one of the best seasons for a Husker running back in the last quarter-century.
Brown talked to Rivals analyst Tim Verghese about the conversations he had with the Nebraska star. The running back prospect clearly looks at Johnson as a kind of mentor.

Emmett Johnson could be Nebraska football’s secret weapon in keeping Amir Brown committed
"Asking him questions and getting the knowledge now," Brown told the analyst. "Knowing that helps me when I come in, I’m really thankful for Emmett.”
Brown has admitted in the past that schools are coming hard after him, and he understands why. He's also made it clear he's not going to officially shut down his recruitment. Huskers fans may not love that he's not willing to just straight stop talking to suitors. Especially considering he's already committed and then decommitted from North Carolina.
Still, Amir Brown has also made it clear that he's pretty solid when it comes to Nebraska football. With a real bond forming with Emmett Johnson, it feels like the Huskers have an arrow in their quiver other schools don't.
