Back when the Nebraska football team saw its top tight-end target commit to LSU, some analysts believed the fight for Ahmad Hudson was over. In fact, On3 analyst Tim Verghese promised there would still be some twists and turns. Those twists and turns are likely going to last until signing day. Even if Hudson is still a commit for LSU when that day arrives, the Huskers will keep fighting.
Nebraska football is still working to flip an LSU commit, but winning games may be the key.
Matt Rhule and his staff demonstrated they aren't ready to give up on Hudson just yet. Staffer Keith Williams demonstrated that NU is still recruiting the dual-sport superstar by posting a picture outside of Hudson's high school on Thursday. Adding to that is Verghese breaking down how he thinks things will go right up until December.
I think Nebraska, there's a non-zero chance, I would say, and that chance is moving up, I would say, of Nebraska getting Hudson back campus at some point before signing day," Verghese told Hurrdat Sports on Friday.
“There’s a non-zero chance… Of Nebraska getting [Ahmad] Hudson back to campus at some point before signing day.”

Despite the five-star tight end's commitment to LSU, @TimVerghese believes the Huskers' relationship will keep interest alive.

"It just wouldn't surprise me at all, whether it's in June, whether it's in the season, it just wouldn't surprise me at all," he continued about the possibility of getting the current LSU commitment to Lincoln at least one more time.
While the analyst thinks the Huskers still have a chance to get their foot in the door, it's not a given that they'll eventually flip him. He laid out one big step they need to take if they really want to pull the talented tight end, who is also expected to be one of the best recruits in basketball.

Ahmad Hudson still has Nebraska football fighting despite his LSU commitment
"That said, yeah, I mean, for that to happen, I mean, for Nebraska to pull this thing off, they're going to have to win some games because that's the one thing that at least he's able to kind of hold against them right now. But, yeah. I think there's a non-zero chance of it happening. I mean, I didn't close the book on Nebraska and Hudson when he committed to LSU for a reason. I think, you know, there's still some chapters to be written in this whole recruitment. So we'll see what happens. I do think Nebraska needs to be careful in how they play this."
Nebraska has the advantage of knowing that Ahmad Hudson really liked what he saw and heard when he visited Lincoln and spoke with the coaching staff. He also built real friendships with NU commits Trae Taylor and Tay Ellis. They talked often and planned on playing together.
But now that he's committed to Lane Kiffin and LSU, it won't be easy to pull him away. One big reason is that even guys as good as Hudson want the recruiting to be over at some point. They want to focus on where they'll live on campus. They want to focus on their senior years of high school. Both winning and staying healthy. And they don't want to have to worry about changing their minds.
So, Nebraska has a non-zero chance of getting Ahmad Hudson back to campus and trying to pull him away from the Bayou Bengals. But it's not a given; the Huskers need to work hard and work right. But the fight isn't ending until December.
