The Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team has had a rather interesting 2025 so far. John Cook is out and Dani Busboom Kelly is in. And while the Huskers are still trying to see where they are sitting with a new head coach, they now know what’s in store once they get to the Big Ten schedule.
The opponents for the conference slate were announced on Thursday afternoon, and if there’s one thing aspect that’s a bit disappointing, it’s that the Huskers schedule will feature just one matchup against Wisconsin.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers’ games against the Badgers have become quite the rival matches and most Husker fans would have loved if UW was a protected rivalry the way Iowa vs Nebraska football is. Instead, they get them just once in 2025 instead of a home-and-home.
Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball finds out its Big Ten opponents
There is one big rival that is part of the home and away schedule. It just happens to be the team that knocked the Huskers out of the NCAA Final Four.
Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball double-play matches
- Michigan
- Michigan State
- Penn State
The double-play games means the Huskers will host these three opponents and will travel to their home court as well. The double-play against Penn State is obviously the most noteworthy of this group.
Nebraska Cornhuskers home only matches
- Illinois
- Iowa
- Ohio State
- Maryland
- Northwestern
- Washington
- Oregon
Nebraska Cornhuskers away only matches
- Indiana
- Wisconsin
- Minnesota
- Purdue
- Rutgers
- UCLA
- USC
The only thing more painful than only playing the Badgers once is that it will be on the road. The rest of the Nebraska Cornhuskers road schedule is relatively easy. Or at least they’re all games outside of the Badgers they should be able to win if Busboom Kelly has the team in good shape.
