The Nebraska Cornhuskers football team will play in a new look Memorial Stadium next fall. Athletic Director Troy Dannen showed off the new look on the field while the main facelift for the stadium is still very much in the future.
Still, Dannen showed off endzones that are now red, rather than green and some part of the sideline that matches the endzone color. While there are some people who didn’t love the look, Dannen is very much gung ho about the new look and thinks that eventually people are going to realize how good it looks and how much it takes advantage of the school’s color scheme.
However, the big news is that it appears the full Nebraska Cornhuskers makeover is going to cost a ton of money. In fact, it could cost as much as twice the original price tag. And it could be even more than that, approaching $1 billion.
Michigan kickoff bound to frustrate Husker fans
Earlier this week, the Nebraska football team found out some of the kickoff times and dates for several of its bigger games. Among those times and dates was a 2:30 p.m. kickoff against Michigan.
To the surprise of no one, there were more than a few fans who were frustrated that such a big conference game was relegated to an afternoon kick time, especially when comparing it to the other Saturday afternoon games on CBS Sports this fall.
Nebraska coaches are ‘in the game’
Earlier this week, EA Sports confirmed that real coaches are going to be in EA Sports College Football 26. That’s a massive change from last year’s return to the franchise. The added bonus here is that while not every school will have many of its coaches, the Nebraska Cornhuskers have Rhule, offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen and defensive coordinator John Butler all represented.
