The Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball team is preparing for its CBC final four matchup against Boise State on Saturday. However, Fred Hoiberg is working hard on another aspect of the rebuild.

The Huskers have their first transfer portal addition of the 2025-26 offseason. As an added bonus, the squad pulled him from an bitter rival and he happens to be a deadeye from deep.

Nebraska Cornhuskers add Iowa’s Pryce Sandfort

Pryce Sandfort announced he’d committed to the Nebraska basketball team on Thursday.

The 6' 7,  210 lb forward announced he’d be a member of the Huskers next season. That means NU now has a shooter that hit 40% from beyond the arc this past year.

Granted, he only started two games for the Hawkeyes, but he’ll likely be either a starter or a 6th man who will be looked at as instant offense off the bench. If nothing else, it takes a player that hurt the Huskers off the board. While he averaged just 8.8 points per game, he averaged 13.5 points per game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers in 2024-25.

Brice Williams gets big praise

The Huskers guard is getting ready for Boise State this morning but he’s already impressed pretty much everyone he’s played against in his final season in Lincoln. That includes Georgetown head coach Ed Cooler, who praised the Nebraska Cornhuskers hero after the second round of the CBC.

"He's one of the most cool, calm, collected players we've played against. He plays with a pro's mentality,” Cooley said. That’s gonna come in handy once this season is over and Williams turns his attention to the NBA.

Nebraska baseball gets off the snide

The Nebraska baseball team had a nightmare mid-week session as they lost to both Creighton and Omaha. However, they at least got the weekend off on the right foot. The Huskers won the opening game of a Big Ten series for the first time all season.

Will Bolt’s squad beat Rutgers on Friday night 8-5 and are now looking to clinch their first conference series win with a Saturday game at 2pm.
