The No. 9 Nebraska basketball team went into Carver Hawkeye Arena on Tuesday night hoping to get its first win over a team with a winning record since January 10. That was only one of the storylines running through the evening, but the one that got the most attention once the two squads tipped off was the hatred spewed towards forward Pryce Sandfort by Iowa fans.

Sandfort likely knew there wasn't going to be a lot of love in the arena as he returned for the first time since transferring to Nebraska. The boos rained down during the pre-game, and then there were chants of "F- Pryce Sandfort" from the student section.

Nebraska Cornhuskers football linebacker rated as a high transfer

When Rob Aurich was named Nebraska's defensive coordinator, it came with the belief that the Huskers would land several players from his San Diego State Aztecs defense via the transfer portal. One of those was will-be junior Owen Chambliss, who becomes the fourth-highest-graded linebacker transfer of the offseason.

Fred Hoiberg mentioned as a possible Kansas State coach

Earlier this week, Kansas State fired Jerome Tang after the team collapsed during the Big 12 season. Now that the Wildcats are looking for a new head coach, Fred Hoiberg has been mentioned as a possible replacement. Obviously, it seems extremely unlikely that the Nebraska basketball coach would make the jump from the Big Ten to the Big 12, his name will almost certainly keep getting mentioned.

Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball defense gets praise from Iowa's Ben McCollum

Before Nebraska and Iowa tipped off on Tuesday night, the Iowa Hawkeyes coach made it clear he has a lot of respect for the Huskers' defense. Talking about the way they work against an offense.

"They force you down baseline, and they're going to rotate, and they're going to do their thing," McCollum said, expanding on how exactly it's weird. "With Sam [Hoiberg] and some of those bigs and guards and the communication of Rienk, they're good defensively."
