It was hardly a surprise when Pryce Sandfort stepped on the court on Tuesday night. The Nebraska vs Iowa Hawkeyes game is a big deal for both squads and Sandfort playing for both schools in his career is certainly an interesting side note. So no, it wasn't a shock at all when the fans at Carver Hawkeye Arena let their hate fly.
Early on in a game in which some people wondered how Sandfort would be greeted by Hawkeyes' fans, the question was put to bed. A chant "F*ck Pryce Sandfort!" Rang out. While it was mostly from the student section, many others in the not-quite-full arena joined in from time to time.
Sandfort almost certainly knew that when Nebraska took on Iowa for the first time, he wouldn't be met with love. Whether he knew the hatred would rain down to this degree is another question, though. It's worth pointing out that the forward didn't have much of a role with the Hawkeyes during his time there.

Nebraska basketball’s Pryce Sandfort hears pointed reactions in return to Iowa City
In fact, it took transferring to the Huskers to really allow him to break out. Over two seasons in Iowa City Sandfort played in 65 games but started just two. Last season, he saw the most playing time with the Hawkeyes, averaging 22.4 minutes per game and scoring 8.8 points per contest.
This year, Sandfort is averaging 32.4 minutes and 17.5 points per game coming into Tuesday night.
Add in that Nebraska and Iowa were already heated rivals makes it easy to understand why the Carver Hawkeye arena fans were more than a little livid to see him in Crimson and Creme.
