While not directly tied to the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the district court in Douglas County, Nebraska, did get into the fun of the recent wave of courts that have essentially taken all the power away from the NCAA. This time around, it was in favor of Omaha Mavericks forward Isaac Ondekan,e who was granted an injunction by Judge Katie L. Benson, allowing him to return to the Mavericks for one more season.
"Ondekane has shown he is likely to succeed on the merits of his claim that the NCAA’s refusal to consider him for a medical “hardship waiver” was a breach of its duty of good faith and fair dealing," Benson wrote in her opinion. "Because Ondekane faces irreparable harm without a temporary injunction, and because the balance of equities and public interest favor granting an injunction to this seriously injured student athlete, the Court grants Ondekane’s motion for a temporary injunction while litigation continues."
Nebraska basketball vs Creighton finds a neat twist in new era of rivalry
The Nebraska Cornhuskers and Creighton men's basketball will square off on a Saturday for the first time since 2019, as the Huskers travel to the CHI Health Center in Omaha, where Fred Hoiberg and his Nebrasketball squad will try to make it three straight wins against their in-state rival Creighton on December 5.
At the end of last season, Creighton's longtime head coach, Greg McDermott, retired, which means the Huskers will face off against a new head coach for the Bluejays for the first time since the 2010-2011 season. This will be the first meeting for Fred Hoiberg's squad against the Jays' new head coach, Alan Huss.

- It's not clear if Nebraska is sticking to its boycott of Texas Tech, even after Brendan Sorsby left the school and will now look to join the NFL for next season. However, considering the NCAA has begun looking into Cincinnati's role in Sorsby's betting on sporting events and how much the school knew, the Huskers could soon need to announce another boycott.
- Arthur Jones IV recently received an offer from the Huskers. The son of former NFL defensive lineman Arthur Jones and the nephew of former NFL defensive end Chandler Jones and UFC legend Jon Jones likes what he's seen so far. In fact, Jones told Rivals analyst Tim Verghese that he's already planning to make multiple visits to Lincoln to get a full view of the Cornhuskers.
- The Nebraska Cornhuskers have many questions about the running back position in 2026, but true freshman Jamal Rule could stand out from the pack and take control. That was underscored earlier this week when CBS Sports named him one of the Big Ten freshmen to watch.
