On Monday, the Nebraska Cornhuskers landed their second offensive line commit in the last two weeks when Hayden Ainsworth officially pulled the trigger.
The Biloxi, Mississippi, product tipped his hand last week when he shut down recruitment after a visit to Lincoln, but as is always the case in recruiting, there was still an outside chance that he might end up elsewhere. Turns out he’s going to play for Matt Rhule and company.
Nebraska Cornhuskers softball lands Hannah Coor in the transfer portal
Nebraska Cornhuskers’ ace Jordy Bahl has an old friend joining her in Lincoln for her final collegiate season. Former Oklahoma outfielder Hannah Coor announced she is transferring to Nebraska.
Coor has one year of eligibility left and has played in 152 career games, making 25 starts while hitting .279 with 41 runs, 31 hits, six doubles, three home runs, 23 RBIs, eight walks, and 13 stolen bases. Coor is an outstanding player who has seen her career stunted by injuries.

Matt Rhule loses the battle for California lineman to Lane Kiffin
While the Huskers hauled in one lineman commit on Monday in Ainsworth, they lost the battle for another in Ryan MIret. The Florida 4-star was considered a Nebraska lean as recently as this weekend, but he then paid a surprise visit to Ole Miss.
Whatever he saw or was told was enough to blow him away. On Monday, he shut down his recruitment and announced he was headed to the SEC power for his college days.
Nebraska baseball adds transfer portal pitcher from Augustana
It was a transfer portal kind of day for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Among the additions was JD Hennen, a pitcher from Augustana. Hennen finished this season with a 4.29 earned run average, making 10 starts. He pitched 56 2/3 innings, allowing 27 earned runs and striking out 74 batters. He holds a 4.37 ERA over his three seasons at Augustana, throwing 115 1/3 innings and striking out 146 batters.
“What stood was the coaches and people are just great people there,” Hennen told the Hastings Tribune. “I really liked my visit. Nebraska’s facilities are second to none. They were a lot different than I am used to. Everything stood out to me and seemed like a good fit. It’s pretty close to home, too, so that was important.”
Nebraska football might have a new tight end commit in Luke Sorensen
June is supposed to be a big recruiting month for Matt Rhule and company and it’s possible they even have some commits who haven’t gone public yet. Luke Sorensen is one such player.
The 3-star tight end commented on another recruit’s social media post that seemed to give the game away. "Yk (you know) where home is quit playin,” he said on linebacker Kasen Thomas’ social media post. If Sorensen knows home is Lincoln, it appears likely he’s calling it home himself.
Volleyball adds a 2027 commit
After committing on Monday, Kendall Omoruyi is the second member of Nebraska’s 2027 recruiting class. The 6-foot-4 middle blocker is the No. 1 rated prospect according to PrepDig and No. 4 rated by PrepVolleyball.
The newest member of the Nebraska Cornhuskers averaged 2.7 kills on a .342 hitting percentage for Casteel High School in suburban Phoenix.
