The Nebraska Cornhuskers have convinced quite a few analysts they belong in the NCAA Tournament with a four game winning streak over some of the best teams in the Big Ten.

Now the Huskers just need to keep things going. Should they do that, it looks like Fred Hoiberg and company have reversed the damage that was done by their mid-season six-game losing streak. At the time, it didn’t seem likely that there was a way to reverse that damage. The magical season has been one to watch, especially now that it’s back on track.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball team is “in” among most of the bracketologists. It also has pretty good odds when it comes to Vegas and even ESPN analytics, though that last one give NU the least amount of chance getting in the Big Dance for a second straight year.

Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball is going dancing according to analytics

First up when it comes to Bracketology is Joe Lunardi, who believes the Nebraska basketball team has moved all the way up to “last four byes” and getting a No. 10 seed. Lunardi has Nebrasketball facing off against an old Big 8 rival in the Missouri Tigers in the first round of the tourney.

Meanwhile, ESPN analytics aren’t quite as confident. They are in the “work to do” bucket right now with a 58 percent chance of making the tournament. Meanwhile, when it comes to Vegas, FanDuel Sportsbook is giving the Nebraska basketball team immense 86.7% odds (-650) of making it to the March Madness-fest.

None of this means a whole lot yet. The Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball team is sitting at 48 in the NET, which isn’t good enough. According to Bracketologists.com, they are two spots below the NCAA Tournament cutoff. But things are trending in the right direction and now they need to keep taking care of business, first with a win against Maryland on Thursday.
