Thanks to a three-game winning streak, the Nebraska Cornhuskers appear to be firmly back in the Big Dance.
Obviously, nothing is official until Selection Sunday, but people who were afraid that the Huskers had finished their season when they lost six games in a row. And then, they won two in a row against Top 25 teams and then a comeback against Washington. And now, most of the big Bracketologists have Fred Hoiberg and company in the field.
If there is one piece of bad news for the Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball team, its that their seed isn’t going to be very high. Most of the bracketologists have NU at No. 10 or No. 11 in the field. And while there’s always upsets in every tournament, that’s not a particularly great outlook for a program that is still looking for its first tournament win. Ever.

Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball back in the Big Dance after win streak
ESPN’S Joe Lunardi has the Huskers as the 11th seed and taking on an old foe in 6th-seeded Missouri. And if Lunardi is right, and the Huskers win the first round game, they’ll likely take on another former Big 8 opponent in Iowa State.
T3 Bracketology has Nebraska as a 10 seed along with Utah State, San Diego State, and West Virginia. That particular bracketologist doesn’t set up which teams will face each other but the 7 seeds are Maryland, Creighton, Mississippi State and Louisville. A Nebraska vs Creighton matchup in the NCAA Tournament would be one of the most hyped games in Husker history.
JBR Bracketology also has NU as a No. 10 seed and also seems to believe that NU vs CU in the tourney is a possibility.
Finally, MadeForMarch has the Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball team with the best outlook as a 9th seed, taking on the Clemson Tigers in the Lexington Regional.
