While the polls are not a 1-to-1 comparison when trying to figure out what seed Nebraska basketball will earn in a couple of weeks, the AP putting the Huskers back in the Top 10 is a very good sign. Fred Hoiberg's squad went 2-0 last week, the first time they've done that in a while, and the voters apparently believed that (along with several upsets to other Top 15 teams) earned them respect.
The Cornhuskers are back at No. 9, continuing a season where they've spent several weeks being considered one of the best teams in the country. That is something NU has simply not experienced much at all.
More than that, if the NCAA Tournament seeding were, in fact, 1-to-1, it would mean that Nebraska is within shouting distance of getting a No. 2 seed in the Big Dance. At the moment, most experts have Nebrasketball locking into a 3-seed, but it has a chance to prove that it should go higher.

Job one will be finishing off the regular season with another 2-0 week. With a struggling UCLA and a revenge game against Iowa to wrap things up, that's hardly out of the question. Then they need to make some noise in the Big Ten tournament. With a possible triple-bye on tap, they'll get a rest, but it also means their first game will be tougher than a usual opening round game.
Still, Nebraska has a chance to show that its rough February is over and that March is officially here. Considering the coach's poll also ranked the Huskers No. 9, it's not mad to think they could jump to a 2-seed when the Big Dance kicks off.
