Nebraska baseball has a long wait until it gets to start its march back to another Big Ten Tournament championship on Friday. During that time, the Huskers and their fans can start researching how they might host if Lincoln is one of the sites for the regional round. One of the more interesting regional matchups, according to On3, would be the arrival of ex-coach Dave Van Horn and his Arkansas Razorbacks.
On Monday afternoon, 93.7 The Ticket host Jake Sorensen talked about how the SEC power, with a bit of a down season, could come to Lincoln after the Huskers have paid several visits over the years to the Razorbacks home stadium. This particular bracketology has Van Horn's squad as the No. 2 seed in the regional, and it would be interesting enough that the NCAA might try to line it up, even if that isn't the most natural way to go.
Of course, with a week of baseball still to go before Selection Sunday, there are plenty of shifts that might occur. For one, Nebraska could win the Big Ten Tournament with a win over a highly ranked UCLA squad that could see them move up the ladder of regional hosts.
On3 believes the Huskers will eventually be the No. 12 seed. Should they manage to get even higher, Arkansas could be ranked too low to fit into the Lincoln regional. There's no telling how much NU would have to move up (or down) to avoid Dave Van Horn if the NCAA thinks it would be a fun battle to watch.
"They're (On3) projecting the regionals: has Nebraska hosting as a 12 seed, with Arkansas the two (seed). Dave Van Horn back at Haymarket Park."

At 41-14 (23-7 B1G) with an RPI rating of 10th in the country, it seems that Nebraska is firmly in the position to host a regional in… pic.twitter.com/xtil2uTyhD
Will Bolt and Nebraska baseball could see several different paths through a Lincoln Regional
Other bracketology's don't have Nebraska pegged for quite an interesting matchup, but what On3 and Baseball America have in common is that they believe Will Bolt's squad is firmly in a hosting position after the weekend sweep of Minnesota.
BA also has the Huskers as the No. 12 seed, so that appears to be about where NU fans should expect the team to end up on Selection Sunday, barring some conference tournament fireworks. That site has the Big 12's Cincinnati as the No. 2 seed in the Lincoln Regional. The rest of the bracket is filled in with Miami (OH) and UIC.
Cincinnati (37-19) is currently ranked No. 21 in the RPI. The Bearcats are also the No. 6 seed in the Big 12 baseball tournament. The Redhawks (38-15) are ranked No. 37 in the RPI and were the MAC regular-season champions. UIC, obviously the fourth seed in this projected Lincoln Regional, is No. 244 in the RPI and finished the regular season 24-27. The Flames are the No. 1 seed in the MVC Conference Tournament.
Should Nebraska manage to win its regional in Baseball America's bracketology, it would then face the winner of the Chapel Hill Regional. At the moment, that would likely be North Carolina as the No. 5 overall seed. Tennessee is expected to be the No. 2 seed in that bracket, and should the Volunteers pull off an upset, it's possible Lincoln could see a Super Regional after all.
