Former Nebraska football wideout Isaiah Neyor will need to find another team to try to live out his NFL dreams after being released by the San Francisco 49ers on Monday. As it turns out, his release was a bit of a surprise to the National Football League's fans after the speed burner was billed as someone who had some nice camps and had enough talent to excite onlookers.

Neyor's release was part of a rather busy morning for the 49ers as they reportedly signed defensive lineman Bradlee Anae, defensive lineman Bruce Hector, safety Jaylen Mahoney, cornerback Fabian Moreau, and offensive lineman Isaiah Prince. To make room on the camp roster, the team released the former Husker along with kicker Greg Joseph, cornerback Tre Avery, quarterback Tanner Mordecai, and tight end Mason Pline.

49ers roster moves see Isaiah Neyor waived amid flurry of new signings

The ex-Nebraska football, Texas, and Wyoming wide receiver signed with the 49ers after the NFL draft as a UDFA. Once he had signed, more than a few fans of the team loved the fact that he had a ridiculous amount of speed.

Niner Noise analyst Peter Panacy went so far as to say that he was afraid the release of Neyor could come back to bite the 49ers. That pointed out that teammate and tight end George Kittle had previously talked glowingly about the wide receiver and expected the ex-Husker to make San Francisco's 53-man roster.

Now he'll need to look for another team, though his speed alone should give him a shot to at least make a practice squad.

Isaiah Neyor spent the 2024 season with the Nebraska football team and had a bit of an up-and-down year. While he did catch 34 passes for 455 yards and 5 TDs, he also struggled with dropped passes from time to time.
