A quartet of Nebraska football players will head to the NFL Combine starting this weekend and all four will be looking to improve their draft stock and move up all the Mock Draft lists.
While all four Huskers are going to benefit from showing what they can do, two players stand the best chance of really improving their chances at getting drafted at all. The two defenders, Ty Robinson and Tommi Hill have made their case, but for the two offensive players, there’s still a chance to show what they’re capable of at the 2025 NFL Combine.
Thomas Fidone can show his Nebraska football stats weren’t a fluke
Fidone will start working out with the other tight ends and defensive backs at the NFL combine on Friday as he does on-field work and measurements. The former Nebraska football TE has some things to prove after suffering through injuries or bad QB play for most of his time in Lincoln.
Fidone finished his Huskers career with 61 catches for 613 yards and 4 touchdowns. In 2023, he was hampered by very poor quarterback play but still found the end zone four times. Last season Dylan Raiola was able to ramp up his catches, but he never scored.
It stands to reason he can show his ability to both block and catch and build on success he saw at the Senior Bowl.
Isaiah Neyor looking to prove his talent after 1 season with Nebraska football
Isaiah Neyor is another guy looking to show first and foremost that he hasn’t lost a step due to injuries. His season in Lincoln was his first full campaign since 2021 and he did ok, catching 34 passes for 455 yards and 5 TDs.
The Huskers were expecting more from him and hoping he’d get closer to the 44 catches for 878 yards and 12 TDs he had for Wyoming in 2021. His biggest problem in Lincoln were some bad drops.
He’ll be able to show off his blazing speed and hands when he works out with the other wideouts on Saturday and Sunday
As for Ty Robinson and Tommi Hill? The defensive back especially will just be trying to show people he’s full-go after missing time for the Nebraska football team in 2024 with a foot injury. Robinson will try and show his strength and speed once again on the defensive line.
