Former Nebraska wide receiver Alante Brown has found his third school, presumably hoping that the third time is the charm and he can really show what he's capable of with the Memphis Tigers.

Brown, who will technically be entering his seventh season, recently got a waiver from the NCAA, allowing him to get one more year of eligibility. The talented wide receiver is hoping his one more year will allow him to show the American Conference what he can do and put together a better season than he saw with the Huskers or Michigan State.

Brown committed to Nebraska in 2020 and played in 30 games as a Husker. In three seasons, he had 22 catches for 262 receiving yards while returning 22 kickoffs for 284 yards. His best season with the Huskers was also his last, catching 16 passes for 191 yards.

How Alante Brown’s college journey led from Nebraska to Memphis

Ahead of the 2023 season, Brown transferred to the Spartans, but he wasn't able to make the kind of impact he hoped. With Michigan State, he had 5 catches for 47 yards. He did show the ability to be a special-teams weapon, returning 11 kicks for 346 yards. He also scored his first career touchdown in 2025 with a 92-yard TD return this past season.

With the Memphis Tigers, he'll look to put things all together and be both a receiving and special teams threat in 2026.

Interestingly enough, Alante Brown is the second former Nebraska wide receiver to transfer to his third school through the portal this winter. He joins Malachi Coleman, who signed with the Wisconsin Badgers after playing for the Huskers and Minnesota Golden Gophers.
