If there is one big weakness for the Nebraska basketball team this season, it's that it doesn't have a large rotation of players. That depth might have taken another hit on Saturday as Jamarques Lawrence had to leave the game with an injury early.

Lawrence left with what was originally thought to be an ankle injury. Still, he might have had a knee injury instead, with the Huskers holding a comfortable lead over Penn State. However, the guard never returned to the bench after heading to the locker room.

Jamarques Lawrence leaves Nebraska win early with an injury

With Nebraska rolling to a big win to get them back on track, Lawrence's departure isn't a concern for Saturday. However, if he's going to miss any time beyond this weekend, it becomes a big program.

It's an especially big problem if Lawrence is out for the Big Ten and NCAA Tournament. If it is a knee injury, it's impossible to come to pass.

It's unlikely Nebraska will have an answer to how bad the injury is on Saturday afternoon. Tests will almost certainly need to be done. But for now, the program is holding its breath, and things don't look great as he never came back to the court.

Jamarques has been a big addition for the Huskers this season after coming back from Rhode Island. So far this season, Lawrence has played in all 26 Huskers games and has posted a career high 10.7 points and 3.8 assists per game.

Nebraska will need him down the stretch and especially in the NCAA Tournament.

2/21 3:12 pm: Fred Hoiberg told Husker Radio that Jamarques Lawrence injured his ankle and was "doing OK" after the game. Nebraska will obviously know more tomorrow.
