Nebraska recently hosted its annual Junior Day, where the Huskers' coaching staff brought in some top prospects from the Class of 2027 and a few of their own commitment recruits for some workouts. This was a great chance for Matt Rhule and his staff to see who they really want to make a push for, but also allowed committed recruits to make impressions on some potential prospects.

Four-star quarterback commit Trae Taylor has helped Nebraska out immensely on the recruiting trail, constantly trying to get guys to Lincoln. Taylor was in attendance for the Huskers Junior Day, and he might be the key to Nebraska landing elite five-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman.

5-star WR Kesean Bowman could hand his commitment over to Nebraska

Bowman is a highly sought-after wide receiver in the Class of 2026. The young pass-catcher was supposed to announce his commitment in the month of February, but has since moved the date back, stating that he just isn't ready to make a decision yet.

Programs like Ohio State, Miami, Oregon, Vanderbilt, and Tennessee are his top places that have pushed the hardest for his commitment. However, it seems like Nebraska could be making a surge for the No. 6 pass-catcher in the 2027 class.

Nebraska could use some good talent on the offensive side of the ball when it comes to recruiting. Taylor is clearly ready to lead the team simply with how much he has tried to bring in top talent, but also with the talent of his own. Taylor talked about Bowman's visit to Nebraska, and it should give fans hope that the Huskers are a real contender for his commitment.

"He was shocked at what Nebraska is," Taylor said. "I’m just glad he listened to me and gave the Huskers a real chance.  Now we just have to keep building our relationship."

Taylor could be the key to landing Bowman's commitment, and with help from the coaching staff as well, the Huskers could pull off a big surprise in the recruiting world that would have fans jumping for joy.
