Now that the 2026 NFL Draft has come and gone, it's time for players who weren't selected to try to show why 32 NFL teams made a big mistake. Unfortunately for the Nebraska football program, the players who need to pull off that feat is everyone who was eligible for the draft, besides Emmett Johnson.
The bright side is that almost all of the Huskers who could sign with NFL teams this weekend did. Now it's a question of how many of them will make an NFL roster out of the spring, summer, and fall camps and have a chance to really make an impact at the next level?
3 Nebraska UDFAs with the best chance to make Week 1 NFL rosters as early underdogs
Deshon Singleton
Deshon Singleton is one of those names that seem odd to still be out there and available. He started the last 30 games he appeared in after playing in all 12 games in his first year in Lincoln. Not only that, but he recorded back-to-back 70-tackle seasons for Nebraska.
Singleton also posted his career-best season in his final year in Lincoln. The safety recorded 70 tackles, 4 TFL, 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery, 4 pass breakups, 2 interceptions, and 6 passes defended. All of those numbers scream success in the NFL. Luckily, the Kansas City Chiefs believe he could be a diamond in the rough and signed him not long after the draft ended.
Javin Wright
After a long and challenging career at Nebraska, linebacker Javin Wright will get a chance in the NFL after agreeing to an undrafted free agent deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Initially part of the 2019 recruiting class, Wright battled injuries during his time at Nebraska, but emerged as a regular starter on defense over his final two seasons in Lincoln.
Last year, as a senior, Wright played in 12 games with 11 starts for Nebraska in 2025, missing one game due to injury. He set career highs with 86 tackles, 9 TFL, 3 sacks and 4 pass breakups. Wright led Nebraska in tackles, TFLs, and sacks and ranked second in interceptions and third in pass breakups. As long as he can stay healthy, there's a very good chance he could stick with the Bucs as either a linebacker or safety.
Ceyair Wright
Over the winter, while taking part in both the Shrine Bowl and Senior Bowl, reports were that Ceyair Wright's draft stock climbed quite a bit. Unfortunately, it apparently didn't climb enough as he went undrafted. Shortly after the draft ended, though, former Nebraska quarterback and current Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor gave him a shot, signing him as an UDFA.
The 6-foot, 190-pound Wright played in all 13 games for Nebraska in 2025, making nine starts. He recorded 29 tackles, 1 TFL, 0.5 sacks, and posted a team-high five pass breakups en route to earning honorable mention All-Big Ten honors as a senior. Wright has the coverage skills to be a decent Nickel in the NFL and should be the latest Nebraska DB to make the Bengals roster out of fall camp.
