Nebraska Football fans are more than a little fed up with offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield after a heartbreaking loss to Maryland.
It doesn’t appear that Satterfield has ever really been beloved by Husker fans. Even though he’s the one who brought back the fullback to Nebraska.
There have been plenty of fans who were skeptical of Satterfield because of his struggles in South Carolina. There are some who believe he should have been fired just weeks into the job because of the turnovers his offenses have committed.
While some fans have come around to the idea that injuries to the Nebraska Football team were more to blame than his calls, there aren’t many people left on the Marcus Satterfield bandwagon after the Maryland game.
The offensive coordinator’s decision to have third-string quarterback Chubba Purdy throw into the endzone with the final few minutes ticking away ended in disaster. It ended in an interception, and Maryland was able to drive down the field after that play and kick the game-winning field goal.
The loss was the fifth of the season, dropped Nebraska Football to 5-5, and means that fans are still sitting on the edges of their seats waiting to see if Matt Rhule and company can get to a bowl.
The race to a bowl game was hurt by losses to Michigan State and Maryland. Now the Huskers are going to need to beat Wisconsin or Iowa.
Nebraska hasn’t ever won in Madion. Iowa will be playing for a Big Ten West title.
There’s a reason Nebraska fans were salty after losing another game they felt like they could have won.
Nebraska Football fans call for Marcus Satterfield’s job
Will Marcus Satterfield be fired this season? That’s incredibly unlikely. But Nebraska Football fans are going to need to see some adjustments at the end of this season and improvement next year or the howling will be louder and harder for Rhule to ignore.
