Nebraska football vs the Sun Belt

There are a trio of teams in the Sun Belt conference that have had the misfortune of running into the Buzzsaw that is the Nebraska football team. Of course, there is also one Sun Belt squad that’s never lost to the Huskers in Georgia Southern.

South Alabama: That the Huskers have played the Jaguars twice already is interesting if for not other reason than South Alabama hasn’t been on the FBS level all that long. Still, the two teams squared off in 2015 (a 48-9 blowout) and in 2019 (a much closer sign of the problem 35-21 win by Scott Frost)

Arkansas State: Speaking of a “sign of the problem” Arkansas State might be 0-3 against Nebraska, but they only lost 43-36 the last time the two teams played in 2017, which just happened to be Mike Riley’s last season. The two teams played in 2012 and 2009 and the Sun Belt squad never got closer than 29 points.

Louisiana-Lafayette: ULL has faced off against Nebraska football exactly once. They lost 55-0 in 2009. Knowing that it’s hardly surprising they’ve decided to stay away from Lincoln before or since.
