It should come as no surprise that over the long history of success that Nebraska football has had there are some teams the Huskers have always beaten.

The Nebraska football team has been around for a long time. 1890 to be exact. Over that time they’ve played a ton of FBS teams, even if for some of them, the two squads have on ever squared off once.

Despite being around as long as Nebraska football has been, it’s true that there are some teams the Huskers have never played. Most of those teams are ones that joined the FBS pretty recently and the Cornhuskers just haven’t had the opportunity to face.

There is another group of teams, however and those are the teams that Nebraska football has played and only ever been successful when they’re played. This particular list will take a look at the teams NU has never lost to in its long, long history.

Interestingly enough, that starts with a couple of teams in the B1G.

Nebraska football vs current Big Ten teams

Considering just how many struggles NU has had since joining the Big Ten, it might be a bit surprising to know there are two squads in the conference that have never managed to score a victory over Big Red.

Rutgers: One reason why the Rutgers Scarlet Knights have never been able to score a victory is because the two squads haven’t played all that much despite being in the same conference. Nebraska currently sports a 6-0 record. The two teams started this run in 1920 with a 28-0 Husker victory. The win streak almost ended last season when NU beat Rutgers 14-13.

Maryland: It’s actually pretty amazing that Nebraska football and the Terapins have only squared off twice despite both being in the Big Ten. They first played in 2016 and then again in 2019. So far, Nebraska has outscored Maryland 82-14 in those two contests. The Terps will have a chance to take themselves off this list in November.
