The Nebraska football team scored a big recruit from Florida, and Miami Hurricanes fans are more than a little angry about what happened.

The Nebraska football team is on the kind of recruiting roll that hasn’t happened in quite a while. That has allowed Husker fans in part, to celebrate the fact that Nebraska snagged a recruit that appeared a shoo-in for Jacoy Barney.

When the Huskers got Barney, it was a bit of a shock to the college football world. Nebraska football fans were surprised of course. But Miami Hurricanes fans were both surprised and apparently quite angry.

‘Canes fans are not taking the loss of the 4-star receiver very well. Between anger about Barney not picking the Huskers and how Matt Rhule comported himself after he got the good news, those supporting Miami are big, mad at the coach and his program.

The beginnings of a feud between the two programs was punctuated when a Miami fan took to his favorite message board to say that he would pray for Jacory Barney.

"“In all seriousness, going to say a prayer for this kid. Choosing a p*** poor program like Nebraska (even worse than us the last decade plus) and having to live in a corn field. How many south Florida kids have chosen Nebraska over Miami and entered the portal? Multiple and Barney will be next in line. Horrendous decision by him.”"

Nebraska football making waves

If that message wasn’t silly enough, then I bring you the rather hilarious take about Matt Rhule and his celebrating of getting Barney.

This isn’t to say that the Nebraska football team doesn’t have fans like this from time to time. There’s plenty of them out there that don’t take it well when they lose out on a recruit. All you need to do is look at the reactions to Dylan Raiola picking Georgia to see that.

But it’s still damn funny to see Hurricanes fans get so bent out of shape at the Nebraska football team because they scored a commit.
