Nebraska Football: Daniel Kaelin has ‘surpassed every expectation’ at Elite 11
Nebraska football commit Daniel Kaelin has impressed onlookers at the Elite 11 camp so much that many are blown away by his performance.
To some Nebraska football fans, Daniel Kaelin will always be considered the “backup plan” to Dylan Raiola. That’s not even an unfair opinion considering that Kaelin was busy committing to Missouri while the Huskers coaching staff was going hard after the 5-star prospect.
It wasn’t until Raiola made it clear he was a Georgia Bulldog through and through that the Nebraska football team and the Bellevue West quarterbacked decided to team up. While Kaelin might have been the backup plan, it’s continuing to look like everything worked out as it was supposed to in the end.
That the Huskers landed on the right choice after all was on display again this week when Kaelin attended the prestigious Elite 11 camp. There was no doubt that he deserved to go, but his performance among the best prospects in the 2024 class raised eyebrows. As Hail Varsity‘s Brady Oltmans put it, Kaelin “surpassed every expectation” that Oltmans had.
The writer added that Kaelin got off to a slow start but impressed no only Oltmans but also others in attendance including at least some coaches who believe the Nebraska football team got a “steal” in the signal caller.
Nebraska football commit’s stock is rising
Oltmans is far from the other recruiting expert to be quite impressed with the Huskers’ commitment. 247Sports recently ranked him as one of the top 11 at the camp. It’s worth pointing out that wasn’t a given heading into the week.

Where the Nebraska football commit really shined this week was in accuracy drills. In fact, he placed at the top of the heap, beating out players like Air Noland, CJ Carr and yes, Dylan Raiola.
It’s becoming clear that the Nebraska football team did indeed get a steal in the quarterback. There’s a chance that looking back on what went down this spring, Huskers fans are going to breath a sigh of relief.
