Nebraska Football: Bellevue West prospect chooses Mizzou
Nebraska football is now officially “Dylan Raiola or bust.” That’s because the 5-star, Chandler, Arizona quarterback is now the only quarterback in the 2024 class that the Huskers are pursuing that isn’t already committed somewhere.
It is far from a shock that the Nebraska football team finds itself in this situation. There was little doubt the other potential Husker target was going to be pulling the trigger for Rhule and company. That’s mainly because Daniel Kaelin knew he wasn’t the one the Huskers’ coaching staff really wanted.
That might have played a part in the Nebraska football target choosing the Missouri Tigers. After all, there was a while there when the Cornhuskers appeared to be the front runners. That was before they went all in on Raiola. By the time the Bellevue West quarterback announced he would pick his team on Monday, it was expected he wouldn’t come to Lincoln.
It is clear Nebraska looking hard at Raiola isn’t the only reason that Kaelin picked Missouri. After all, he told On3 that he really felt like Columbia, Missouri, was “home.”
"“After the visit, right as we got in the car, my mom and my stepdad were with me and I was like, ‘I think I want to commit tomorrow. I could just feel it. I just knew it was the right place for me and that it was home.”"
In the end, it appears that Nebraska football wasn’t really even in the running. The 3-star quarterback who is considered the fourth-best player in the state for the 2024 class, said that it came down to being between Missouri and North Carolina.
All of this means that the dominos have started to fall for Nebraska football. If Dylan Raiola isn’t hauled in by this staff, then there are going to be some people rather angry they didn’t get the Bellevue West product. Now… things get really interesting.
