Nebraska football recruiting has a powerful new rival on its radar when it comes to reeling in one of the best receivers in the state.

Matt Rhule has made it clear that he would like to lock down the state. In some regards, it seems as though Nebraska football recruiting has done a pretty good job of doing exactly that.

However, as in-state recruits get more attention from other programs it’s getting a bit harder to lock things down. That was most recently demonstrated by an offer to Bellevue West wide receiver Dae’vonn Hall by the Texas A&M Aggies.

It’s worth pointing out that the Aggies aren’t the first Power 5 team to come calling for the Nebraska football recruiting target. However, most of the teams that have offered the Bellevue West product have come from the same general part of the country. The notable exception until Texas A&M came calling was Arkansas, but the Aggies are really on a different level when it comes to recruiting.

While Jimbo Fischer and company haven’t had a lot of success on the field yet, they’ve had a ton of success recruiting. That Dae’vonn Hall now has an offer from that staff likely means that some of the best programs in the country will be lining up soon.

Hall has around 10 total offers right now; almost all are from Power 5 programs. According to On3, the Nebraska football recruiting efforts are still doing the job, and he’s still a pretty big Husker lean. But there’s plenty of time to butt in and take the Bellevue West prospect out of state.

One other reason why Nebraska football recruiting is going to have to step up its game, is because there are plenty of experts who believe Hall could be quite good on the defensive side of the ball in college. That’s despite the fact that he hauled in 62 catches for 974 yards and 11 touchdowns in his junior season.

It appears that Nebraska football recruiting will need to keep close tabs on Dae’vonn Hall as his stock continues to rise.
