The Nebraska football team is coming off a win against an FBS team for the first time in over a year and despite cooler heads telling Husker fans to calm down, there’s a renewed sense of energy around Lincoln and the state. Now the Cornhuskers are headed out on the road to New Jersey to take on a Rutgers Scarlet Knights team coming off its first really bad loss of the season.

While it’s the first blowout loss of the year for them, it’s the second straight week where they’ve looked less like a team that is competing for a bowl game and more like the Big Ten also ran they’ve been so often. In the last two weeks they’ve been outscored by a total of 76-20.

Before that, they managed a two-point against Temple. Not exactly a national powerhouse.

So what’s going to happen on Friday night? Will the Nebraska football team get their second straight win, or will the dark clouds return over Lincoln?

Nebraska football vs. Rutgers Odds Week 6

The Huskers opened as a slight favorite over the Scarlet Knights at -2 with the total being 51.5 but the line has grown a bit since Sunday evening. FanDuel now has the Nebraska football team at -3 over Rutgers but the total has stayed the same.

WynnBet so far has decided not to way in on this particular game. Take that for what it’s worth. At the moment, it seems that Las Vegas is having a hard time figuring out just who is going to come away the winner in this contest. That Nebraska is on the road (other than Dublin) for the first time this season is probably the biggest key.

Nebraska football vs. Rutgers Prediction Week 6

While I got off to a 4-0 start predicting Husker games this season, I had a bit of a setback, going 0-for-2 last week as I said Indiana would cover and the teams would hit the over.

This week, I’m going to get back on track as I think the Cornhuskers can win by more than three points and I believe the offense is going to make a meal out of a Rutgers defense that’s been exposed a bit.
