Nebraska football has a special class for 2021.

It’s hard to believe we are talking about another Nebraska football season, but yet here I sit ready to welcome the 2021 class. The good news is, much of the class has begun to arrive early. That is certainly a good sign of things to come.

As noted in a report from Parker Gabriel of the Lincoln Journal Star, Nebraska has 14 players enrolling into the school early. That is certainly a number that makes me excited, as it means that players want to be here and want to start getting to work right away.

Among the enrollees, you have a potential starting quarterback in Heinrich Haarberg, starting tight ends in Thomas Fidone and James Carnie, as well as potential starting offensive lineman in Teddy Prochazka, Henry Lutovsky and Branson Yager. When you take a look at that list of names right there, that makes up most of your future offensive firepower.

Perhaps even more than just what they might bring on the field, it’s a testament to the fact that they are ready to get to work. I have high hopes for this 2021 class, and I truly think that they will have a chance to succeed. This is going to be a big season for everybody, players and coaches alike.

This is something that I’ve noticed in the 2021 class more so than some of the past classes of Nebraska football. They want to help turn this thing around, and they want the program to succeed. The fact that 14 kids are enrolling early is a testament to that. It just shows that they want to be here.

Now, I would certainly not want to forget the players on the defensive side of the football as well. Ru’Quan Buckley, Seth Malcolm, Randolph Kpai, and Marques Buford are also heading to Lincoln. They too should help provide some firepower on the defensive side of the football.

This 2021 class is hungry and they want to help Nebraska football win. High numbers of early enrollees are certainly nothing to scoff at. If anything, these numbers show that they are coming to Lincoln with a mission. These guys in particular will be ready to go come training camp, as they will already have familiarity with the environment and the way that Nebraska football does things.

2021 class is going to be special. dark. Next

As evidenced by these numbers, the time for the 2021 class to shine is now. I see a lot of starting opportunities for these players next fall. Too bad next season seems so far away.
