Nebraska Athletics trying to find ways to involve fans on game day
The Nebraska athletic department is trying to find ways to involve fans.
Do you want to check out Nebraska football or other athletics this season? If so, you may be in luck. The Nebraska athletic department is searching for ways to involve fans. With no fans allowed at Memorial Stadium, this could be an opportunity for the athletic department to creative.
38,000 people watched the Nebraska baseball scrimmage on Thursday. The virtual spring game earlier this year was another way that fans could get involved. There are ways to have this happen, and it can be done. I think it will be great if Nebraska football could have fans virtually during their game or if they would be able to at least watch the game.

This team in particular promises to be very special. I have a ton of optimism for this season. I’m excited to see what Scott Frost and his coaching staff can come up with it should be a lot of fun
Personally, I like what the NBA has done in their bubble in terms of allowing fans to virtually watch. It’s unique and innovative. is the same as being there? No, it’s not. There’s nothing that can replace being at a football game any other athletic event. However, it is certainly a nice alternative.
People within the athletic department are trying to figure out ways to make this happen. With the modern technology that we have nowadays, I could certainly see where this could be a feasible idea.
"“We talk every day about, ‘How can we keep our fans engaged during this time?’ We don’t want to be insensitive to the larger-scale picture and what’s going on with the pandemic, but at the same time, this is a unique place and we have the best fans in the country,” Garrett Klassy, deputy athletic director, said in April. “They’re hungry for information, and they’re hungry to be engaged with Husker athletics.”"
I personally would love to see Nebraska football fans virtually on game day and I definitely think that would add to the experience. Would that beat a football game day at Memorial? No, of course not. Nevertheless, Nebraska football fans and athletics fans are some of the best in the country.
I’ll be interested to see what they come up with. This fall is going to look a lot different in terms of what we are going to be able to see and do on game day. However, I’m excited that it is happening. A couple months ago, I wasn’t so sure that it would be. At this point, we will take we can get.
