Nebraska recruiting has squarely turned its attention to 2020 when it comes to the quarterback position. On that front, another visit is on the horizon.
The Cornhuskers have their 2019 quarterback locked in for the 2019 Nebraska recruiting cycle. Now the team is turning its attention to 2020 and beyond.
That’s where Logan Smothers comes in. Smothers is a dual-threat quarterback out of the state of Alabama who has already visited Lincoln once. Now he’s planning on doing it again.
Smothers has been high on the Huskers since getting an offer back in May. 247Sports has him being a virtual lock to the Nebraska football team.

The fact that he’s looking to bring more family to Memorial stadium sure feels like it getting the final approval before he officially commits. Smothers is said to be coming back to Lincoln at the end of this week.
He told the Lincoln Journal Star that, “me and my dad talked about it and decided that we wanted to come back and see a little more and get to talk to the coaches again.” It appears that the key visitor might be Smothers’ mom.
She hasn’t gotten a chance to meet the coaching staff. Though the Alabama quarterback has said that Mrs. Smothers has managed to have a quite a bit of conversations with quarterbacks coach Mario Verduzco.
Logan says the two seem to have hit it off. That’s certainly a good sign considering that Scott Frost and company have certainly hit it off with the player and his father.

Nebraska recruiting efforts have been trying to lock Logan Smothers down before too long. While he camped at Ole Miss and Alabama he does not yet have offers from those schools yet. Ohio State has also shown some interest. The Nebraska football team would love to get him committed before those offers start pouring in.
