Nebraska recruiting’s hot streak has continued in June as the team got one commit and hosted a number of other top prospects this weekend.

Nebraska recruiting already got one big win this weekend. It looks like a couple more could be coming for the Huskers if Scott Frost and company play their cards right.

Among the visitors that came to Lincoln in order to check out campus and the second Friday Night Lights camp were JUCO defender Jonathan Alexander and wide receiver/athlete Jamie Nance.

While Alexander is still looking for an official Cornhuskers’ offer, Nance has one in hand and the coaching staff is putting on the full court press.

For Alexander, the Nebraska football team appears to still be trying to sort out its options, though it appears that sooner or later he will be getting an official scholarship offer to play in Lincoln.

Alexander is one of the best JUCO safeties in the country. The Huskers staff has talked to him about possibly moving to linebacker should he come here.

Jovan Dewitt has apparently talked to him about being more of a cover linebacker, someone who wouldn’t need to come off the field on third down.

For his part, Alexander announced on his Twitter page that he thoroughly enjoyed the visit, saying the campus was “great” and the coaching staff was even better. Nance echoed the positive vibes of the visit saying he had an “amazing” time.

The receiver out of Oklahoma’s visit was relatively short, as he is headed to Notre Dame on Saturday. The good news is that he’s already taken one unofficial visit to Lincoln so this was just kind of a refresher stay and a way for those leading the way on Nebraska recruiting to take his temperature again.

When it comes to Jamie Nance, the Huskers have a bit of an ace in the hole. Running back commit Thomas Grayson is a high school teammate of Nance.

From comments he’s made to 247Sports, it’s clear Grayson is going to do everything he can to get his teammate to pick the Cornhuskers over the Fighting Irish and the rest of the competition. Sometimes, the Nebraska recruiting efforts are carried out by more than just the coaches.
