The Nebraska football team landed its ninth commit for the 2019 class on Friday. Find out what you need to know about the newest Husker.

The Nebraska football team continued its run in the month of June. Yet another commit means that a team that had almost no commits at the beginning of the month is closing in on getting about a halfway full class.

Matthew Anderson, an offensive lineman from Louisiana announced he was going to be a Husker on Friday morning. That means that yet another player at a position that the Cornhuskers are in desperate need of getting announced he wants to play in Lincoln.

So what are the things you need to know about Anderson now that he’s the newest commit?

He hinted he was going to make a big announcement

Just two days before Matthew Anderson announced he was joining the Huskers, he made it clear there was a big announcement on the way.

It turns out the offensive tackle gave himself a little birthday present. Today, Friday is indeed his birthday and he tweeted out on Wednesday he was going to be making some noise on Friday.

Because he did indeed commit, it turns out that the Nebraska football team and its fans got a present. For the most part, the commits this month have sort of come out of nowhere.

It was nice to get a heads up that Husker fans might be expecting something nice today. The nicest thing about this situation is that even when we knew there was a chance he might commit, it was still a decent surprise.

Matthew Anderson’s announcement could have been just that he was narrowing down his choices further. Instead, he narrowed down his choices down to one, the Nebraska football team.
