Nebraska football has even more competition for one of, if not its top wide receiver target and it’s coming from inside the Big Ten.

The Nebraska football team has yet another competitor for its top receiver target for the 2020 class. Jordan Johnson might be the top receiver in the entire class but the Cornhuskers got their foot in the door early.

Now the Minnesota Golden Gophers are wanting to get their foot in the door as well. The Gophers are just the latest team to offer the talented receiver from Saint Louis.

The Desmet High School star now has a massive 21 offers. That’s despite the fact that he won’t be able to sign on the dotted line until 2019.

It’s rather clear that more than a few of these teams are looking to establish a relationship with him long before he’s even thinking about committing to go to a school.

247Sports has ranked Johnson as the 17th best receiver in the 2020 class. Considering the number of teams that have shown some interest in him, that ranking is likely going to go up.

The camps where he can show his stuff to the coaches have begun this summer. It’s a safe bet that there are only going to be more teams coming after Jordan Johnson in the next few months.

The Nebraska football team is going to have to rely on the fact that they have gotten their foot in the door early, a couple of times. They can also hope that Missouri is in the Huskers’ backyard. This is one that is likely going to be going right down to the wire.
