Nebraska football is looking for the next great JUCO running back.

While Nebraska football fans were watching JUCO transfer Greg Bell run over, around and through the defense on Saturday, there was another potential JUCO back taking it all in as well.

Charles West, a star running back for Garden City Community College was in attendance for the Spring Game. It’s not entirely clear just how high on the list of West is for the Cornhuskers but he’s clearly a talented back.

West had quite the season for Garden City CC. In 12 games last year, he carried 176 times for 972 yards and eight touchdowns.

That 5.5 yards per carry average shows a speed that the Huskers are clearly interested in when they are looking to add players to the roster. Once a commit to BYU, West has shown that his high school talents are now able to translate to college.

The Nebraska football team appears to be willing to give carries to JUCO transfers. Bell looks like the real deal. That could go a long way towards getting someone like West to come to Lincoln. It also looks like the talented back is already making friends considering he posted a picture of him hanging out with Bell.
