Yet another former Nebraska football star gets new free agent deal
Former Nebraska football star Jeremiah Sirles is no longer with the Minnesota Vikings. The former Husker lineman is now a member of the Carolina Panthers.
It has been a rather big week for former Nebraska football stars. That is especially true if you are talking about an offensive lineman in the NFL.
Jeremiah Sirles becomes the latest former member of the “pipeline” that has signed a brand new deal with an NFL team. Sirles moves from the Minnesota Vikings to the Carolina Panthers.
The free agent deal with Carolina might come as a bit of a surprise. It appeared as though the former Husker had found himself a home when he landed in Minnesota.
Of course, Sirles NFL career is still relatively young. It’s possible he could one day be part of the Skol family once again.

2018 will be the offensive tackle’s fourth season in the NFL and he will already be playing for his third team. According to the Daily Norseman, the deal is of the one-year variety, so it appears the former Husker might be on his way to another team in short order.
Sirles has had a bit of a scattered history in the NFL. For the most part, he’s bounced back and forth between starter and backup. In his first season in the league, he appeared in just two games for the San Diego Chargers.
In his second, the first with Minnesota, he appeared in 14 games and started 10. Last year he again appeared in 14 games but started just four.
It’s not entirely clear whether he will be a starter or bench depth for the Carolina Panthers but at the very least his NFL career is continuing.
