Justin McGriff could be an impact player for the Nebraska football team thanks in no small part, because he’s quite big. His new head coach has said lots of nice things about McGriff, including the fact that he could be quite versatile.

Frost believes McGriff might start out adding some depth to the wide receiver corps, but will eventually move over to tight end. One thing is for sure, he could be deadly in the red zone.

It’s going to be hard for any team to keep McGriff and his 6-6 frame buttoned up when the Cornhuskers are able to just throw the ball into the end zone and let the Florida athlete go get it.

It’s not going to matter what team the Huskers square off against, McGriff is going to tower over whoever is covering him. As an added bonus, he’s got pretty good speed for such a big man.

That will make him an even deadlier weapon when they decide to move him inside. The one thing the Huskers are going to have to look out for if he does play as a true freshman is penalties.

Someone that big and lanky might have problems keeping men in front of them when blocking. That could also become an issue if blocking downfield is something that’s needed.

Still, Justin McGriff is going to be the kind of physical specimen that the Nebraska football coaches are going to have problems keeping off the field. Imagine if the new redshirt rule goes into effect and they can use him for three important games without losing a year of eligibility.
