The Nebraska football team appears to be giving a Junior College kicker in Nino Alibegic a look.

Junior College kicker Nino Alibegic appears to be a new player on the Nebraska football team’s radar. We talked about how the team wasn’t done when it comes to the 2018 recruiting class, but this addition would be a bit of a surprise.

Should the Huskers look to sign Alibegic, it would continue the reshaping of the roster they have done since Scott Frost and company arrived on campus. The big question here would have to be, whether he would be getting a scholarship or starting out as a preferred walk-on.

No matter what the situation, it does appear as though the Cornhuskers have a real interest in the player. On Saturday he tweeted out a tweet asking how Husker nation thought he looked in red and white.

Wide receivers’ coach Troy Walters was one of those who retweeted the post. It appears Nebraska at least has Alibegic on their radar screens, even if it may not be as a scholarship player.

While it appears the kicker has a decent leg, he also struggled a bit when it came to making kicks. Last year for Independence Community College, he hit just six of 12 field goal attempts.

It was his less than impressive percentage when it comes to extra points that should give some people pause. Alibegic hit just 27 of 33 extra points during the 2017 season.

What’s impossible to know, without directly watching their games, is what kind of factors could have played into that less than perfect percentage. Everything has to go right in order for kickers to have success.

It’s possible the Nebraska football team could find a way to tap that leg and get Nino Alibegic to reach his potential. All of this, of course is if he eventually comes to Lincoln.
