Nebraska football: Huskers foray into Missouri includes 2020 scholarship offer
The Nebraska football team offered 2020 recruit James Frenchie on Saturday. It was the latest offer in a swath of Missouri moves.
The Nebraska football team seems to have marked Missouri on the map as a place it can mine for talent. James Frenchie is the latest Missouri player to receive a scholarship offer.
The one thing that makes Frenchie stand out is that he’s a member of the 2020 recruiting class. Since arriving in Lincoln, Scott Frost and company have offered just a handful of 2020 offers.
So what makes Frenchie stand out? This appears to be a somewhat new approach for the staff, who look as though they are going down a list of players in one area and are looking to get their foot in the door with as many players as possible.
The athlete, out of Trinity Catholic has already gotten plenty of attention from FBS schools. The Huskers become the fifth Power 5 team to offer Frenchie.

Before Saturday, Iowa State, Kentucky, Missouri and Kansas State had doled out offers. With that kind of attention so early in the recruiting cycle, it stands to reason Frenchie is going to be a special one.
The way the Huskers are giving out offers, it’s pretty clear they aren’t going to let grass grow under their feet. The staff is working on making the 2020 class as good as possible, while they continue to work on making sure the 2018 class rises through the ranks.
The real question now is just how soon will the Nebraska football team start making cut downs for James Frenchie? When offering a kid this far out, there’s an awful lot of sitting and wating.
