Several Nebraska football coaches continued their push for an FSU commit to change his mind.

A couple of Nebraska football coaches paid a visit to former Florida State commit John Huggins this week as they continued their full court press to bring the four-star defensive back to Lincoln.

Huggins posted a picture of himself standing with the coaches on his official Twitter account. Alongside the pic was the caption “great in home visit #GBR.”

Huggins has been one of the Husker staff’s top targets since they came to Nebraska. The coaches appear to know Huggins thanks to his Central Florida location.

Now that he is no longer committed to Florida State it appears defensive backs coach Travis Fisher and company think they have a shot.

For his part, Huggins has said that he’s pretty high on the Huskers so the interest does appear to be mutual. The Knight’s coaching staff, all of which has come to Nebraska did recruit Huggins when they were at UCF, so there is a level of familiarity with this group.

While Mike Riley and company were very vocal about wanting to set up a pipeline between Nebraska and California, Scott Frost and his assistants appear to be doing the same with Florida.

Of the three players that have committed to the new staff, two of them are from the state of Florida. Several of the Huskers’ top targets are also from the Sunshine state.

By contrast, the 2018 Nebraska football recruiting class now has no commits from California. Only time will tell if the shift in geographic focus for the team is good or bad. What is clear is that Frost and his assistants are more confident and familiar with what they have in Florida.
