The new Nebraska football coaching staff has officially offered a player they’ve gotten to commit once already.
The newly in place Nebraska football coaching staff has been hard at work. Since Scott Frost was officially announced as the Huskers’ head coach he and his staff have been working overtime giving out scholarship offers.
On Monday afternoon, the group officially started poaching players that had committed to UCF. three-star athlete Katerian Legrone tweeted out that he had received an official offer from NU.
Legrone is currently committed to play for the Knights next season. While this is hardly the first time a coaching staff has moved locations and started recruiting players they had previous relationships with, it’s still always interesting to see how the sausage is made.

Legrone has been offered by South Carolina and Syracuse, as well as a bunch of Sun Belt squads. This is a player that the Huskers might have overlooked before the UCF coaches were the Husker coaches.
That doesn’t mean Legrone isn’t someone deserving of a scholarship offer. Frost said in his introductory press conference that he wants speed. Perhaps in the mold of Tom Osborne and Charlie McBride before him, the new head coach is going to bring in as much speed as he possibly can and then decide where that speed will play.
What might have been envisioned for Legrone at UCF is going to be different in Lincoln. It should also be pointed out just because the same group of coaches offered Katerian Legrone, it doesn’t mean he’s a shoo-in to come to the Nebraska football program. Being from Georgia, he might be more comfortable heading to a Florida school.
