The Nebraska volleyball team isn’t letting up as it heads to the end of the regular season.

The Nebraska volleyball team has entered the second to last weekend of the regular season much the same way it has entered every weekend this season. The Cornhuskers took out Ohio State on Friday night, though there was a bit of bad news with the good.

The Huskers saw their consecutive straight-sets match streak come to an end against the Buckeyes. Ohio State did manage to take a set from Nebraska, making it just the second set the team has lost all month.

That’s not matches I’m talking about. They’ve won every match they’ve played in November. I meant the Huskers have lost two sets in the entire month. That is over a span of five matches, all wins for Big Red.

NU will get a chance to try and start a new run on Saturday night when they match up against Maryland in College Park at 5:00 PM.  The match against the Terrapins will officially mark the beginning of the end of the regular season.

After tonight’s match, the Cornhuskers will have just two more games in the regular season. At the current moment, Nebraska is looking like they’re going to win the Big Ten, thanks to holding the tiebreaker over Penn State thanks to a win in head to head matchups.

The biggest question at this point in the year is whether or not the Huskers might be able to nudge their way into getting a #1 seed in the NCAA Volleyball tournament. If Nebraska volleyball can win out, it would seem to be a fairly good bet.
